Evaluating new ultra-low-power IoT hardware often comes with the tedious task of setting up basic drivers and wireless stacks from scratch. To make your next evaluation phase smoother, we have done some of the heavy lifting for you.
Our team at Indesmatech has implemented and verified the SWL2001 LoRaWAN® stack for a highly efficient hardware combination: Nuvoton’s low-power MCUs and Semtech’s sub-GHz radios.
By utilizing Semtech’s LoRa Basics™ Modem alongside Nuvoton’s robust MCU libraries, this implementation handles the fundamental low-level functionalities. It is designed to give you a clean, working foundation so you can skip the driver setup and jump straight into building your custom application.
Key features of this evaluation blueprint:
- Nuvoton NuMicro® M2L31: Built on cutting-edge Re-RAM technology (Replace flash and behave more like a EEPROM), offering rapid read/write speeds and a low 60 μA/MHz run current. It also features a dual-bank architecture, allowing you to evaluate seamless Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) updates.
- Semtech SX1261: Pre-configured for optimized, long-range RF performance.
- Keil MDK Environment: Fully implemented and ready to run in Keil. As a bonus, Nuvoton provides a free Keil MDK license when you register on their website.
We have fully verified this foundational stack using standard development hardware: the NuMaker-M2L31KI evaluation board paired with the SX1261MB2BAS shield.
The SWL2001 stack is available entirely free of charge. Since we want to provide direct support and keep track of who is working with the stack, we distribute it directly.
If you are planning an upcoming ultra-low-power LoRaWAN project and want to fast-track your evaluation, feel free to send us a direct message here or reach out through our website to get access to the files.
